Hyundai Motorsport has appointed Andrea Cisotti as its new customer racing manager, replacing previous incumbent Andrew Johns.
Johns officially left Hyundai just over a week ago (March 13) after three years in the customer racing manager role underneath previous team principal Andrea Adamo.
Cisotti has been promoted from within as he was formerly Hyundai’s customer racing engineer – marking the second time in recent months Hyundai has handed a management role to a member of its engineering department following Julien Moncet’s rise to deputy team principal.
Cisotti has been a Hyundai employee since 2018 and has a predominantly racing background having worked as a race engineer for both Proteam Racing and JAS Motorsport in World Touring Cars.
In his new role he will oversee all of Hyundai’s customer projects which includes its WTCR program and of course WRC2 with recently announced drivers Teemu Suninen and Fabrizio Zaldivar.
The Italian will also be the point of contact for any private teams running Hyundai cars.
