Is Meeke better than he gets credit for?

After crashing out of the lead on Rally Qatar, the SPIN, The Rally Pod team debate about the success of Meeke's career

Krris Meeke in Shakedown action in Qatar.,

At his peak he was untouchable. Just ask Jari-Matti Latvala who was destroyed to the tune of 13.4 seconds on the first pass of Ouninpohja of all places on Rally Finland 2016.

But far too often throughout his World Rally Championship career Kris Meeke was pushing just that little bit too hard and putting his car off the road.

Last weekend’s Rally Qatar therefore felt like a microcosm of Meeke’s career – leading the event early on before rolling at a hairpin and eventually recovering to third. But is that a fair assessment? And what can he still offer the world of rallying?.

It’s a debate that occupies plenty of David Evans, George Donaldson and Luke Barry’s time on this week’s episode of SPIN, The Rally Pod as the team looks back at the latest rallying stories before previewing this weekend’s American Rally Association and Extreme E action.

And keep listening for a treat from Donaldson who spills the beans on his incredible Rally Sweden adventure 39 years ago in a modest Mini Cooper.
