Pierre-Louis Loubet will drive for Škoda in 2024, having announced his return to the WRC2 category on Thursday.

The Frenchman, who has competed for M-Sport in the World Rally Championship’s top class for the past two seasons, will drive a Fabia RS Rally2 for the Toksport team, where he will partner the previously announced duo of Oliver Solberg and Gus Greensmith.

In returning to WRC2 competition, Loubet will compete in Rally2 machinery for the first time since winning the 2019 WRC2 championship.

“I’m very pleased to announce that I will drive with Škoda and Toksport this season in WRC2,” Loubet said. “It’s a category that I have some very strong memories in from 2019, so I am very happy to go back in such a strong car.”

“I am sure that [the Fabia RS Rally2] is the benchmark in WRC2 so we will try to fight for the championship. We know we have the weapon for it, so let’s do this and try to enjoy to the maximum,”

Loubet was seen testing Toyota’s new GR Yaris Rally2 in December, but has elected to join the Czech brand for what is set to be a highly competitive WRC2 battle this year.

The French driver is yet to reveal which rallies he will contest this term or who will partner him as co-driver, but Loubet will not compete on the season-opening Rally Monte Carlo.
