McKlein Photographic’s retrospective of the thrilling 2001 World Rally Championship season continues with their pick of images from the Swedish Rally, scene of Harri Rovanperä’s sole WRC win.
The 17-stage rally was also where several of his fellow Scandinavian stars achieved a breakthrough result on snow-filled roads they knew better than the luckless Brits.
There’s no rally in Sweden this year, instead, the world championship is headed further north for Arctic Rally Finland, but it’s worth revisiting Rovanperä’s win 20 years on as his son Kalle is one of the favorites to win in Finland this month.
