Hyundai Motorsport’s search for a team director goes on, with Julien Moncet continuing to deputise through this month’s Rally Sweden.
The Alzenau-based team is still undergoing a complete overhaul of management and staff and Andrea Adamo’s replacement is at the heart of that process.
Ahead of the season-opening Monte Carlo Rally, Moncet was announced as the deputy team director.
He has confirmed to DirtFish that he will remain in position through round two.
“For the moment I’m in charge,” he said.
“I will still be there in Sweden, so I will be the boss, because I know sometimes you are wondering, but it will be me.
“Then we are still working on our internal organization and it takes a bit of time.
“But soon we will come back with something more definitive.”
Asked if he would be interested in the position full-time and without the word deputy in his job title, the Frenchman replied: “I do the job. Why not.”
Adamo departed Hyundai Motorsport in December, feeling the time was right for him to step aside after winning world championships in two of the three years he was at the helm.
More recently, Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing manager Andrew Johns left the company by mutual consent. Moncet will fill in that position too before a replacement is found.
