If there’s one thing Elfyn Evans doesn’t need as a distraction before the most important rally of his life, it’s getting up early in the morning to venture into the Welsh forests for the purpose of a chat with ‘voice of rally’ Colin Clark.
Like he’s handled the World Rally Championship season so far though, he takes on Clark’s questions with aplomb and good spirits. And those may be the only questions he’ll be answering for the media before the World Rally Championship’s title-deciding Monza Rally.
On the agenda is the impact of Britain’s previous rallying greats, Evans’ event-by-event approach and position on team-mate dynamics, and how much WRC drivers are actually in the unknown – and what they’re doing as research to help themselves out – heading to debuting world championship event Monza.
After the interview, DirtFish’s podcast team – Clark, senior staff writer David Evans, George ‘the boxer’ Donaldson and regular host Lisa O’Sullivan – scrutinize what Evans has said and what he’s done so far to deserve his points-leading status. There’s also some talk that Monza may not be going ahead…
