The recent Central European Rally didn’t just crown the 2023 World Rally champion – this year’s WRC2 championship was wrapped up as well.
The premier support category to the headline act, the quality in WRC2 has increased year-on-year as several World Rally winners now ply their trade in the Rally2 class.
But when it was formed, taking over SWRC for Super 2000 cars in 2013, the intention was for it to be both a series for privateer drivers in less powerful cars, but also a talent-spotting and breeding ground.
