Oliver Solberg has withdrawn from Rally Italy Sardinia just hours before the rally start.
The Škoda driver has been forced out of the event having suffered an allergic reaction that required medication. Following further advice, the decision was made that Solberg and co-driver Elliott Edmondson should not start the Alghero-based event.
DirtFish talked to Solberg during the recce on Thursday. The 22-year-old was looking forward to the Italian gravel, saying: “I try to do my best, as always. The race is the race, we are going to try to win, but we will see.”
Sardinia was not one of the rallies Solberg had nominated to score WRC2 points, so the withdrawal will not impact his championship hopes.
