“It felt like a relief,” reflected Ott Tänak as DirtFish’s Colin Clark asked him what it felt like to win the World Rally Championship’s inaugural Rally Estonia.
“There’s been more than plenty of pressure.”
While Tänak isn’t wrong – there was a lot of expectation on him to win in his homeland – repelling that pressure and taking victory means he has now shifted it onto everybody else.
Hyundai has never looked so fast on roads like this, and Tänak virtually halved his championship deficit to Sébastien Ogier from 24 to 13 points.
