As the World Rally Championship makes its traditional second stop of the season in Sweden this week, excitement is building for the WRC’s only snow rally.

‘Snow’ is the word on this week’s edition of SPIN, The Rally Pod, because as well as looking ahead to the action in Umeå, we look back at the ARA’s season-opener, Sno*Drift.

Host Lisa O’Sullivan is joined by George Donaldson and James Bowen to discuss all things Rally Sweden where Kalle Rovanperä makes his first appearance of the season.

The world champion should benefit from an advantageous road position in the freezing conditions, but last year’s winner Ott Tänak won’t let him have it easy. And what about Adrien Fourmaux – could the M-Sport driver spring a surprise in last year’s winning car?

There are also the likely pacesetters in WRC2 to consider, plus a huge entry for the first round of this year’s Junior World Rally Championship.

Stateside, David Evans and Colin Clark join Brenten Kelly to review Sno*Drift. There may not have been much of the white stuff, but that didn’t dampen the atmosphere in Bonfire Alley, where Travis Pastrana’s return injected some stardust into proceedings.
