DirtFish, Fraser McConnell Victorious at ARX of Austin

McConnell-Win-COTA

Austin, TX, September 30, 2019 – DirtFish Motorsports driver, Fraser “Frazz” McConnell, once again landed on top of the podium during Round 7 of the 2019 Americas Rallycross (ARX) ARX2 Championship at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The victory was the ideal conclusion to a day full of wins for DirtFish Motorsports, with McConnell winning three of the five races, and his teammate, Brad Deberti leading the points through all of the qualifying rounds.

Not only was McConnell able to bring home another 2019 race win for DirtFish, but he also extended his lead in the overall ARX2 championship by thirty-three points over his nearest competition, Cole Keatts and fifty-three points over the reigning champion, Conner Martell.

“It feels great to be leading the championship going into the final two rounds of the year, and right now I’m focused on finishing the year as strong as I possibly can,” said McConnell. He goes on to say, “The DirtFish team has been nothing but amazing to me this year, and with Sandals believing in me, the least I can do is bring home the ARX2 Championship.”

For 2019, DirtFish Motorsports has teamed up with Olsbergs MSE to manage McConnell’s car throughout the season. Having the expertise and knowledge from the technicians and team who developed and manufactured the ARX2 cars has been incredibly beneficial and a key to his success.

“We are extremely happy to see Fraser on top of the podium this weekend!” Says Justin Simpson, CEO of DirtFish. “He drove so well in the Final this weekend, and the entire DirtFish Motorsports team did a great job on the set up of his car. The thing was a rocket ship! Going into a double-header at Mid-Ohio we have a great chance of winning the ARX2 championship for the second year in a row, and I am very excited to make that a reality.”

DirtFish Motorsports’ success didn’t stop there. Teammate, Brad DeBerti proved once again that he has some of the best racecraft of the entire ARX2 field. His near-perfect starts, high-level car control, and ability to avoid contact with other drivers allowed him to win multiple qualifying races!

The next two rounds that will conclude the 2019 Americas Rallycross season will take place this weekend back at Mi-Ohio on October 5th and 6th. Get your tickets at https://www.arxrallycross.com/arx-schedule/2019/mid-ohio/october
