Fraser McConnell will race in Nitro Rallycross’ all-electric Group E category this season, lining up for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing under the ‘DRR x Team Frazzz’ banner.

McConnell is the third of four drivers to be confirmed for the DRR and JC Raceteknik alliance, with Andreas Bakkerud and Robin Larsson racing for the team as the Monster Energy RX Cartel.

“We are very pleased to have Fraser join our DRR x Team Frazzz NRX effort this season,” said Dennis Reinbold, DRR team owner.

“We are very familiar with Fraser’s background and driving skills as our team competed against him in the ARX2 championship.

“Fraser has recently shown his talents by winning in the very tough Supercar division in the RallyX Nordic league. The new FC1-X Group E machines are very exciting, and we look forward to having Fraser compete for victories in 2022-23.”

McConnell, the 2019 ARX2 champion with DirtFish, raced for Olsbergs MSE in the Supercar category of last year’s Nitro RX campaign, taking a best result of fourth in the season opener at Utah Motorsports Campus.

He also raced in the RallyX Nordic series, beating four-time world champion Johan Kristoffersson to record his first top-level victory at Nysum in Denmark.

His move to electric racing with DRR won’t be his only rallycross effort in 2022 either, as he’ll also undertake a Supercar program with Betomik Racing for Nitro RX’s European rounds in the UK, Sweden, and Finland.

“I’m super excited to be a part of this new electric era in Group E for a full season with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing,” said McConnell. “I will also be racing the European rounds of Nitro in the Supercar category which is promising to be really fun!”

Travis Pastrana is also set to dovetail his electric championship assault with Supercar outings, with details still to be confirmed.
