M-Sport Ford’s Adrien Fourmaux will contest the next round of the British Rally Championship, the Jim Clark Rally, following his opening round victory two weeks ago.
Fourmaux and co-driver Alexandre Coria were entered into M-Sport’s local event, the Malcolm Wilson Rally, the weekend before Rally México and won in their Ford Fiesta Rally2.
Although they had registered for BRC points, the expectation was for them not to reappear throughout the season.
But both Fourmaux and M-Sport managing director Malcolm Wilson have confirmed to DirtFish that the Frenchman will head to Scotland for the Jim Clark on May 26/27.
Asked how much of the British championship Fourmaux will do, Wilson said: “It’s still up for discussion but there’s no question we want to improve and make the car even more competitive, so for sure we will definitely do the next round.
“We’ve got some tests planned in Ireland coming up quite soon so we want to just try and basically make sure we can keep the Rally2 Fiesta competitive.
“We want to try and give Adrien as much seat time as possible and keep on developing and improving the car.”
Fourmaux currently leads the BRC standings by 12 points over four-time champion Keith Cronin.
His next event will be Rally Croatia in the World Rally Championship.
