M-Sport Ford World Rally Team has confirmed two entries in Rally di Roma later this month.

Italian driver ‘Pedro’ will run a Ford Fiesta WRC in the same ‘All Stars’ World Rally Car class as Hyundai drivers Dani Sordo and Pierre-Louis Loubet, who will both use i20 Coupe WRCs.

Adrien Fourmaux meanwhile gets back behind the wheel of a Fiesta R5 MkII for the first time since winning the Malcolm Wilson Rally in March, and will be a European Rally Championship entry on the Italian event.

M-Sport managing director Malcolm Wilson told DirtFish: “It’s fantastic to be looking forward to a rally again. Rome might not normally have been on our radar for the World Rally Car, but it’s great to be getting Pedro out in a current specification car.

“Adrien’s going to what will, I’m sure, be a competitive entry for R5 cars. It’s imperative for us as a team and as a business to get back out on the stages and start showing what our car can do and why people should be buying Fiestas.”

‘Pedro’ has significant form on Italian events, having campaigned a Hyundai i20 WRC domestically through 2017 and 2018.

Rally di Roma runs from July 24-26, and will be mostly populated by R5 and R2 cars contesting the route that runs as the ERC season opener.
