Thierry Neuville has received a fine for speeding on a public road section between the Croatia Rally stages.
Neuville is currently running second overall on the rally after seven stages, despite a 40-second penalty for arriving late at midday service.
His Hyundai i20N Rally1 had stopped running due to an alternator failure on a road section after SS4, and although he managed to get the car started, it failed again.
It meant he and co-driver Martijn Wydaeghe had to push the car the last 800 meters back to service, arriving four minutes late and earning his first penalty of the weekend.
He has now been hit with a second, after he was recorded traveling at 96.9mph on a 49.7mph limited road section after the fourth stage.
The stewards noted that Neuville was speeding on multiple sections of the public road and have handed him a €1,900 fine.
Last year he was caught committing the same offence at Rally Estonia, and was handed a suspended one-round ban for the remainder of the 2021 season.
