Monza Rally was certainly different to the usual format of a World Rally Championship-qualifying event, and it will be etched in the memory for some time with its crazy weather and title twist in the Toyota camp.
But for our well experienced podcast team, it did bring back memories of club rallies proliferated with chicanes, often made of hay bales, and service parks that were only a kilometer or two at most from the day’s stages.
At the same time, it provided a fitting end to a sports story that has gripped people across the world (a lot of whom were in Wales) and has left us waiting in anticipation for WRC 2021.
