The Safari Rally is an iconic name in the World Rally Championship. It did not get its global reputation adopting a short route with smooth stages, cloverleafing out of a Service Park in Nairobi.
Far from it, the Safari was always the archetypal endurance event in the WRC, its mammoth itinerary crossed over three different countries (Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda) in its heyday.
It’s a perennial favourite rally for McKlein, in particular Reinhard Klein who carved his reputation as an ace photographer through many of his iconic Safari images. For this gallery we have chosen some of our ‘lesser-spotted’ favourites: McKlein’s Safari Fever.
