Next season’s World Rally Championship calendar – one of the most eagerly anticipated in years – is expected to be revealed in June.

WRC Promoter event director Simon Larkin told DirtFish he wants to see the calendar out sooner rather than later. In recent years, the announcement of the following year’s schedule has been delayed: 2023’s calendar came in late November, 2022. The 2024 list was delivered in October.

“We’re aiming for the middle of the year,” Larkin told DirtFish. “I would say late June, around then. We have a lot of excitement and a huge amount of anticipation, so we want to get that word out.”

Demand for a place on the calendar has rarely been higher than right now, with nations like Paraguay, Ireland, Saudi Arabia all linked to a calendar slot.

Currently Japan, Estonia, Greece, Sweden, Safari, Spain (Canary Islands), Italy (Sardinia) and Finland have contracts in place for next year’s world championship.
