Podcast: Is Hyundai/Tänak now the WRC’s fastest package?

In the latest edition of SPIN, The Rally Pod the team reflects on the talking points from Rally Portugal

There’s plenty to talk about in the World Rally Championship right now. Last week’s Rally Portugal was a tale of two halves, and we only have a week to wait until we’re back in action again in Sardinia.

An unlikely Elfyn Evans victory in Portugal – given the strong 1-2-3 Hyundai held throughout the early stages – has had a massive impact on both championships. Sébastien Ogier leads Evans by two in the driver’s race, while Toyota took a vital haul of points to boost its advantage over Hyundai.

Plenty for our podcast team to dissect then!

Listen out for some in-depth analysis from George Donaldson on Ott Tänak’s mysterious suspension breakage, the WRC Champion Evans emuluated and the impact coronavirus is still having on the WRC in light of Ole Christian Veiby’s suspension. The team also pay tribute to former FIA president Max Mosley who passed away on Monday, aged 81.
