Video: The making of Belgium’s first home WRC winner

In this DirtFish documentary, learn more about Thierry Neuville's character and his historic Ypres win

Thierry Neuville is sadly far too used to being second-best, having finished runner-up in the World Rally Championship standings five times during his top-flight career.

That’s not for the want of trying. Neuville is one of the fastest, most determined and motivated drivers to grace the stages of the WRC and is every bit the world champion in waiting, it just hasn’t quite all clicked together for him at times.

Described as “Houdini” by his current team principal at Hyundai Motorsport, Andrea Adamo, Neuville has the ability to just switch it on and dominate his opposition if the mood takes him.

He was certainly in that form last weekend as he romped to his 14th world rally victory on the first WRC event to be held in his native Belgium: the Ypres Rally.

DirtFish spoke to those who know Neuville best – including his father – to deliver this unique documentary that provides insight into Neuville’s character and his Ypres Rally winning weekend.
