Toyota’s Katsuta explains rally-ending roll

Japanese driver tells DirtFish about his Rally Estonia crash

Toyota junior driver Takamoto Katsuta has explained his high-speed exit from Rally Estonia, which occurred on Sunday morning’s second stage, to DirtFish.

Colin Clark was stage-side and caught up with the Japanese driver, who had been lying in fifth overall after SS12 Arula, 29.7 seconds ahead of penalized team-mate Kalle Rovanperä.

Keeping Rovanperä behind was going to be a difficult task for Katsuta and co-driver Dan Barritt, but when Katsuta rolled out of the rally on SS13 Kaagvere it immediately handed the position to Rovanperä.
