Former M-Sport driver Teemu Suninen will drive for Hyundai Motorsport in the WRC2 category on Rally Spain next month.
Suninen, who left M-Sport with immediate effect at the end of August after more than four years with the team, will drive the i20 N Rally2 that has been vacated by Oliver Solberg, who will drive an i20 Coupe WRC for 2C Competition.
“Hyundai Motorsport is known as a great team with strong team morale, professional and motivating mentality,” said Suninen.
“The whole team has always been oriented on good results in WRC and also in WRC2.
“It is great to be part of this big team, and I’m looking forward to the whole experience and delivering results in WRC2 with the new Hyundai i20 N Rally2 car at Rally de España in a couple of weeks.”
Suninen will compete alongside fellow Finn and Hyundai junior driver Jari Huttunen on the asphalt event.
His next WRC appearance will however be in a Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 on Rally Finland, as he drives the same Movisport-run car Esapekka Lappi has used to win both Arctic Rally Finland and Portugal in WRC2.
