Teemu Suninen’s management firm has announced the 27-year-old has ended his time with M-Sport Ford World Rally Team.

The statement confirms the Ypres Rally was Suninen’s last with the squad.

Suninen said: “It’s time for us to say goodbye to M-Sport. I’m grateful that I had a chance to be one of the WRC team drivers for several years.

“It has been a journey full of learning with some great moments. However, nothing lasts forever, and we have now decided it’s time to go on to new challenges.”

Suninen has driven for M-Sport since the start of 2017 – with the 2019 and 2020 campaigns at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta WRC. In that time he managed three podiums.

Suninen had his 2021 program split, sharing a Fiesta Rally2 and Fiesta WRC with Adrien Fourmaux.
