With just three days remaining before the Monte Carlo Rally entry deadline, DirtFish understands M-Sport Ford World Rally Team has entered just two Rally1 cars to the season opener – neither of which has the name Sébastien Loeb on.
Craig Breen and Gus Greensmith are the two drivers committed to the full 2022 World Rally Championship, but there’s still no decision on Loeb and his countryman and fellow Red Bull-backed driver Adrien Fourmaux.
M-Sport declined to comment on the progression of a possible Loeb deal for next season. The nine-time champion will be keen to get any agreement tied down as soon as possible, as he will be busy later this week with Prodrive in Extreme E before departing with the team in just over two weeks for the Dakar Rally.
“We’re well aware of the deadline for entries [to Monte Carlo],” Millener told DirtFish. “But, trust me, there are plenty more deadlines going on around here at M-Sport right now.”
Sources close to the Loeb-Fourmaux-Red Bull negotiations say there’s “still talking to be done” before any deal could be inked.
